So last night for dinner I went out with Sabrina and Irene. We checked out the area by Starr Hall and went to get some Japanese hot pot. I've never had hot pot, they assured me it was usually better. It was pretty good though, a lot of beef. We were really tired so we headed back to our rooms after, good thing the escalator was still running. So many stairs and escalators everywhere! Then this morning I went to breakfast with my Australian friend Justin, who had gone out last night and seen some drunken karaoke, which I need to see. I do have a big place in my heart for Australians, and I understand some of their slang, haha. Then we went to visit my dorm. The other halls have really strict visiting policies but I think we can have anyone around (who's HKU), supposedly not past 11 but there's really no one to enforce it over here. Anyways, then I went to campus. It was hilarious because I was the one helping all the new exchange students around. I feel like I'm no expert but since I just went through what they did I can help them out. Then I finally got my HKU student ID, and my internet stuff! Having internet in the room is so nice since I am so far away from campus. We can't acutally start signing up for classes until the first day, so we have this 2 week add/drop period. It's like BMC, we kinda just shop and then confirm. It's all very confusingly set up though. We ate lunch with some internationals and then Sabrina, Irene and I went to Central to do some shopping. It's sooo cool, there's all the big high rise buildings and then the little side street markets. Then we went and ate at this nice restaurant. They gave us these hot cloths, I mean like burning for our hands. And then we got goose, which is really good, kinda like duck! The food was all good and really not too pricey in the end. I took some pictures, I'll get em online soon. Then we headed back, the buildings are so pretty at night! Pictures don't do them justice because all the lights change color, it's so cool! Then later we went to a restaurant close to campus with some French guys, Tim and Sebastien, to get some drinks. We didn't want to have a wild night before orientation tomorrow. It's so funny, Tim's mom is American and went to Bryn Mawr! Random. Anyways, I'm psyched for orientation tomorrow. All the internationals in one place. I hope I see the kids from my airport bus again.anyays..tired.... |
