So yesterday, Saturday, was pretty chill. I slept in and Justin and I had a late brunch, and then I tried to figure out my schedule (while facebook distracted me). It seems like it will be pretty decent, depending on what class I take I should have either Monday or Friday off, which would be nice. As of now though I want to take 2 comp lit classes, which could be a lot of work. So we’ll see. Hopefully I can take 5 classes and that will get me my Bryn Mawr credit. Anyhow, then I went with Justin and Remco for a swim at the pool at a nearby gym. It is very close to the ocean. Then we sampled the dinner near Starr Hall, a place called Yummy. Haha. It was. When we got back to the Sassoon Halls the frosh were doing their little competition with their chants, it was cool. They’ve been up basically 24-7 over the past week working on it, it was pretty sweet. I didn’t have my camera but my friends got pictures and video, so I’ll have to see if I can steal some. Then today, Sunday, we had the Hong Kong Island tour. We went to breakfast first at a local cafĂ©, which was just some pineapple bun and egg tart. Then we went on a boat ride at Aberdeen, which was really fun, and then to the beach at Repulse Bay. It was all very pretty. Next was Stanley Market, where we got a cheap lunch and then shopped a bit. After that was the Coastal Defense Museum, which was a bit boring but had a nice view (as does everywhere, really) and then we headed back. It was pretty fun, I met some new people, like Amber who is from Australia, and saw some other people again. It was a large group though, we had to take like 4 buses everywhere. I heard the Kowloon tour we are doing next weekend is not so fun but I figure whatever, it’ll be a good way to go around and hang out and meet some more people again. I can’t believe class starts tomorrow, it’s a bit scary. |
