Tuesday, September 25th

Tuesday I just had my one liberalism class, and then we were basically on holidy. We got Wednesday off for Mid-Autumn Festival, which is the night with the fullest moon of the year I believe? Anyways, they celebrate by spending time with family, lighting lanterns, and eating moon cakes. Anyways, Tuesday night we planned to go out for Anski's birthday, so I decided to go shop in Mongkok after class. Success for sure, I bought 3 dresses for supercheap and had some bubble tea, of course. However, I timed it badly and was too late coming back. The bus was taking forever, so I thought I'd walk in the direction of home and catch a bus on the way. However that plan didn't really work out so I got pretty lost. I had to cab it home, which wasn't too far but still. Then I had to quickly change and head to Wan Chai. Eventually I made it to Joe Bananas, a grill pub type place which was SO american. Just like TGI Friday's. It was tons of fun though, it was around 20 people from HKU who I knew most of, a really cool group. We headed to Victoria Park to see some festivities for the holiday. Traveling in a large group is always interesting, and of course throughout the night we made stops at Club 711. Anski put a lantern on the end of her umbrella to be our tour guide. We also would chant "Anski, Anski" in the street, which I'm guessing scared the locals at least a little bit. We walked around the park a bit, there were lots of lanterns and a Chinese show with costumes, a lot of the stuff was for families and children. We then headed to a bar, where we got a really long table outside. It was fun, they gave us tons of peanuts and we started throwing them, launching the great peanut war of 2007. The enemy side even tried to use their umbrellas to shield themselves. It was great fun, we also played Anski's favorite clapping/name game, which is always harder than it looks. It reminded me of a camp name, pretty funny. Then we moved on to walk toward a club in Wan Chai, losing people as the night wore on. It was a really fun group though, which is what made the night. We ended up at Typhoon, dancing to some great terrible hip hop hits. It was a pretty awesome way to end the night. I think in the end it's about the people your with, and I really like that group, sooo funny.
I really don't wanna think about how sad it will be to leave everyone :-(
but for now, gotta enjoy it.
