Today after my one tutorial, in which we watched a movie, Justin, Marion and I headed straight from school to Shek O, where there is a really nice scenic beach, as you can see from the pic. It took a bit to get there but it was a great beach day, the scenery was beautiful with the islands and the water was very warm. We went for a swim, there seem to be no real waves in HK and the water was super salty. But it was still nice, as you who know from home can attest I love the ocean and turn into a fish when I get in the water. I like how in HK there are all the little vendors where you can buy a super cheap mat, towel, swimsuit, rent umbrellas, etc. It was a very relaxing afternoon, and then we grabbed some sandwiches and headed back home. Today I realized a few things, one is that Hong Kong is starting to lose all of its newness and feels sort of normal. Like home. Like these friends I've known for a while. I like it, it's a good feeling. I feel like a better version of myself here, the way I feel in those places where I belong, like with my Arizona friends, at camp, at Bryn Mawr. It's very satisfying.
