Sun Oct 7th-Chinese Banquet!

For my beginning Chinese class, a few of us exchange students decided to go the 80th Anniversary Celebration of the Chinese Department at HKU. It was at the Renaissance Hotel in Wan Chai (the same building where the handover occured in 97). We opened the ceremonies by saying a few sentences in Chinese, and presented a "birthday card" with the flags from all of our different countries. Then bestly, we got to eat a fabulous 10 course banquet dinner which included bird's nest soup and stuffing inside a conch shell. It was really fun, our laoshu (profs) are really super cool. Even though none of us won the raffle, we got gift bags with like tea and books and stuff like that, it was sweet.
